Life Gets Better When You Stop Watching the Clock

Life doesn't have to be rushed.

You don't have to spend your life counting down the clock and/or rushing against it.

Life is meant to be savored and cherished, yet we convince ourselves that we need to meet all of our deadlines as soon as possible.

We collectively carry this belief that we must beat the clock financially, biologically, and mentally.

This takes the magic from all of us.

Instead of letting life surprise and delight us, we make life milestones a to-do list, rushing to the next without fully grasping the lessons and blessings in the chapter prior.

If you aren’t fully present to enjoy that milestone, was it worth the rush?

You should try to do as much as possible in this life. Be, discover, and explore every facet of yourself; however, make sure that you carry presence with you through your actions.

This narrative that we have to keep forcing the clock or rushing through it is causing a lot of people to go down paths that don't serve their highest good or jump into situations that may not be the right one to begin with.

People are overwhelmed, stressed, and exhausted.

Life can be so much more than watching the clock every minute of every day. Timing out all of your moves to the T.

You CAN slow down time by slowing yourself down. Slowing down doesn’t mean you do less; it means sinking into each moment before you jump to the next.

The limiting belief around slowing down is that if we don’t do more, we won’t have more.

You CAN be mindful/intentional while still obtaining everything you've always wanted to obtain. Without the spike in cortisol from rushing, without the underlying fear of not being or doing enough, without the anxiety barking at your heels to move faster.

Life can be peaceful. You just have to be willing to sacrifice what you have always known (stressing and rushing) to gain new habits that empower you from the inside out.

The kicker is that when you let go of this addiction to stressing and rushing, you open up new gateways to creativity, networking, and opportunities because you are fully present to witness what’s right in front of you.

Imagine how many opportunities, people, places, and experiences slipped because you were preoccupied with forcing the next moment to come instead of flowing into it.

To slow down, you have to be real about what's actually important to you, not what you think has to be important.

Once you focus on your priorities, you can cut out the excess noise to clear the distraction in your mind and reduce stress.

Slow yourself down and watch time slow down for you to reach all of your goals and dreams.
