It's Okay to Make Mistakes & Fail

Stop getting down on yourself for perceived failures.
If one thing is true in this life: we will 'fail' at some point. This won’t just happen once, it will happen again, in many forms, in many aspects and areas of our life.
No matter how careful, how organized, how intentional, how much faith you have, how positive you try to think, you WILL f*ck up.
And I want you to be okay with that.
What you don't realize is that 'failure' isn't as bad as society tries to make it seem. It shouldn’t be something we constantly try to avoid.
In fact, failure is necessary for our growth and evolution. True change comes from challenge. If we spend our lives in this bubble of comfort, playing it safe, we never get to experience the fullness of life.
You DO NOT have to have it all figured out and hit a home run with every decision you make; you need to have the self-awareness to know when it's your time to get up and redirect. Trust that even if you fck up, you’re more than capable of coming back better the next time.
Think about a baby who is learning how to walk for the first time; they are going to keep falling down to gain an understanding of their own gravity and balance until one day, they master the art of walking... You don't call that a failure. You applaud them for their effort, you keep encouraging them because you know, with continued practice, they’ll get it right.
Think about a child learning to play a new sport or instrument, they don't get it right the first, second, or third time, but eventually, they learn the skill and can play on their own... You don't call that a failure. You call it a win and eventually if it isn’t something they want, you don’t say they gave up, it’s no sweat that they move on.
But the issue with us adults is we don't give ourselves the same grace to try and to fail, which is causing way too many people to fall down and never get back up or to carry this resentment, guilt, and shame in their hearts.
We have forgotten that 'failure' is needed to gain life skills to survive and thrive.
While yes, there are many ways that adults should know and do better than the ways children carry themselves, it’s also necessary to understand that in other ways, we don’t know better until we experience the duality and hardships of life. No matter how magical life is, there will be hardship.
You deserve the same grace that you would give a child. Not to go out and be irresponsible, but to take chances and learn from every decision you make, no matter what.
You can be responsible and still try new paths.
You can be responsible and still fall down.
You can be responsible and still challenge yourself.
No matter how young or old you are, YOU ARE STILL LEARNING LIFE.
To learn, you have to have the space to get it wrong and to get back up. Over and over again.
No one on this planet has it figured out, no matter how successful they may look on the outside or wise they seem to be. This is our first go around. For all of us.
I don't want you to spend any more time beating yourself up for not having it all right I don't want you to spend any more time thinking you deserve less because you couldn’t figure it out the first few times.
I want you to sit with yourself, take a deep breath in... the deepest one you've taken in awhile, and allow some compassion to fill your body.
You are not your failures or your mistakes. You are a vessel of the universe still learning to operate as a human, and THAT is so f*cking beautiful.
It’s up to you to decide if you will let the mistakes and failures to repeat, or learn what these hiccups have taught you and apply them in your steps going forward.
The only time that mistakes and failures go to waste, is if you aren’t actively allowing them to expand your mind. You an either let the mistakes keep you down, or use them as building blocks for a better life every minute that comes after it.
